There, in the left-hand column, under the “Congress” heading, select the “Show more” option, and then place a check-mark into the three most recent boxes (at the time of development this were boxes for “116,” “115,” and “114”). Next, under “Status of Legislation” on the left side place a check-mark in the box for “Introduced.” Finally, in the search box at the top of the page (i.e., where it says “Examples: hr5, sess9, “health care”), type the last name of the representative/senator you chose and click on the “Search” button to the right. A list should then appear which search results for bills which have information containing that individual’s name. Review the list for a bill introduced showing the person’s name as a “Sponsor.” If more than one such bill appears, you may choose whichever one of those you wish to use. If none appear with that person’s name, then use one of your other options (e.g., representative, other senator).
