For this assignment, one of our Librarians will teach each of you how to conduct secondary research by locating peer-reviewed research articles. The topic for this research must be taken from the material covered in our course this semester.

You will need to choose a topic from any of the chapters covered in Psyc 1100. However, topics such as Sensation & Perception or Consciousness are too broad: you will need to pick a much more specific topic, such as the role of classical conditioning in drug addiction, lucid dreaming, amnesia, and the like. It may be a good idea to have a few different topics in mind, as some topics may be more difficult to narrow down than others. Ultimately you will need to find a very specific research topic.

Once you have identified a viable topic, locate three (3) peer-reviewed research articles (not literature reviews, but articles that detail experimental studies) on that topic using the PsycInfo database that you will learn in the library lab. You will then print out the first page of each article which will include the abstract (the short summary of the study), the title, the authors, the journal the article was published in, and the year it was published.
