Discussion Board question :
For the module this week, please respond to the following two questions in your primary post. Be descriptive and thoughtful in your responses. Your primary post should be at least 100 words.
- What was the highpoint for you during this module, and why? For example, what was the favorite or most interesting thing you learned, or was there a part of the module that you really enjoyed?
- What questions do you have after going through this module? What topics would you like to learn more about?
You must also reply to at least one of your classmate’s posts in order to receive full credit. Your reply post should be thoughtful and not superficial, and be at least 50 words. Always be respectful when responding to your classmate’s posts. If you are unsure how to write a response, you could consider:
- Offering an alternative yet valid response.
- Suggesting a possible adjustment to your peer’s response and share why you are suggesting the change.
- Providing an additional resource or information that supports your peer’s post.
- Sharing an idea that you think might improve your peer’s response.
- Asking a question to gain clarity and/or that helps your peer expand on their idea
Assignment: Memory
STEP 1: Imagine that one of your best friends is struggling with their classes. They aspire to graduate in exercise science and go on to earn a degree in occupational therapy, but they failed their first two chemistry exams. They are feeling nervous about their performance and comes to you for advice. During your discussion, you learn that:
- they gets easily frustrated while working on chemistry problems after approaching them the way they has always approached problems in their other classes
- they are sleeping less than five hours a night
- they work on chemistry homework every Tuesday and Thursday night, but not on other days
- they always keep their phone on vibrate to check if they get messages while they are studying
- they usually studies by re-reading the chapter
- they pulls all-nighters before exams
STEP 2: Based on this conversation, write an email to your friend (at least 300 words), explaining to them why their studying habits are ineffective and what steps they might take to improve their learning. Include appropriate vocabulary from this module on memory, as well as things you’ve learned about consciousness and problem-solving from other modules.
