There are two learning outcomes for this course, one relating to design and the other relating to professional skills.  An important professional skill is to be able to advance your own knowledge given the fundamentals you learn at the university (ABET Outcome 3i). Additionally, we ask that you develop awareness of concepts of leadership and risk management during project delivery.  Therefore, each student is required to individually (and in their own words) prepare a reflection document that illustrates your own assessment of this learning.

The document should be typed single-spaced in block paragraph format and will be turned in via BBLearn.  This document must include the following elements:

1. A clear discussion of your specific, independent learning achieved through this class AS AN INDIVIDUAL. Do NOT describe your tasks or what you did on the project.  List specifically what background research YOU did and how you found your sources.  Do NOT detail specifically what was learned, just summarize what topics you investigated and what were the most important things YOU learned about each topic.
2. Reflect upon what you learned and how this learning was grounded in the fundamental concepts you learned in all of your classes.
3. Explain why you think the ability to learn on your own will be important to you future AND how you expect to do this in the future.
4. Describe your understanding of how leadership differs from project management, and what important qualities a leader must possess. Explain how you plan to develop your skills to become a better leader.
5. Describe various types of risks that may affect a project, providing examples, and explain how risk can be managed throughout the stages of a project (from proposal to contract to project delivery).
