You are to turn in two typed radio news stories on two separate sheets of paper. Each story is worth 25 points. You are to find two separate newspaper articles and re-write those for broadcast. Your articles must have at least one quote by a named source. Find a newspaper article that is dated between September 10, 2018 and September 17, 2018. YOUR TURNED IN ASSIGNMENTS MUST BE STAPLED. 5-7sentences required.
You must write your stories in proper radio style, as we have discussed in this class, with the proper headings (see example below). Your lead sentences must be written in present, present-perfect, or future tense. Three points will automatically be counted off for writing your lead sentences in past tense. In addition, your lead sentences must answer the Who, What, When, Where, Why questions. Your news stories must be double-spaced and must be typed in all capital letters. Also, you must have a closing statement to your stories after the actuality. And, you must introduce the quote before the actuality. Do not write, “Had this to say.” For example:

FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED ONTO THE SCENE JUST BEFORE NOON TO FIND THE
COURTHOUSE ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE ENTIRE COURTHOUSE SQUARE HAS
BEEN CLOCKED TO MOTORISTS AS OFFICIALS TRY TO CONTAIN THE FIRE. PIKE
COUNTY FIRE CHIEF ANTHONY WARREN SAYS NO ONE WAS HURT. HE
MAINTAINS ALL PEOPLE INSIDE THE COURTHOUSE WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE
BUILDING SAFELY.
