Chapter 16 Discussion
I do not believe that the disproportionate rate of atypical sexual behavior is due to biology. It may by possible that it is either social/cultural conditioning but not a genetic trait. Men are the most reported cases of atypical behaviors (American Psychiatric Association, 2000; J. Miler, 2009). If I was to say it was due to cultural conditioning then the media such as movies like 50 shades of grey where this rich, handsome, and powerful man that seems to have it all and is the best bachelor of the city has these weird fetishes sadism. The movie was a big hit with both men and women with that popularity they made 3 movies. Including websites like Pornhub, Brazzers, xnxx etc… where most of the categories involving atypical behaviors are the guys being the ones dominate in each fetish. So maybe its ok to express these behaviors maybe you have to be kind of weird maybe you some partners want that.

Bobby,
There are Biological differences between men and woman that do contribute to different sexual illnesses. with this said men and woman are so different in many ways some can be influenced by the environmental and some are from their root which is Biology. From what I learned about the difference in men and woman is the way they think and the way the brain works which may contribute to being susceptibility to certain diseases. Sex is biological it is determined by physical characteristics sex chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, and genitalia.
Gender is more complex. It not only includes physical attributes but also the interaction between those traits and a person’s sense of self, identification as being male or female as well as the terms ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ may seem to be interchangeable, especially in western cultures, but in reality they refer to two completely different things. Sex is purely biological. It is determined by physical characteristics including sex chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, internal reproductive structures, and external genitalia how an individual presents himself or herself to the world (Gender Spectrum, 2012).
