Part 1
Directions: thoughtfully respond to the following:
- Which contemporary leadership style (transactional, transformational, LMX, Authentic, Servant) is your favorite and what about it do you like?
- Which style would you most desire in a manager?
- How would you describe your personal leadership style?
Part 2: Rate your LMX as both a follower and leader. For your follower role, think of a manager you work with or leader that you know. In your leader role, think of your experience leading in a work, school or other setting. Record your responses and at the bottom, write your score for both.

Scoring Interpretation
Although the LMX 7 is most commonly used by researchers to explore theoretical questions, you can also use it to analyze your own leadership style. You can interpret your LMX 7 scores using the following guidelines: very high 30–35, high 25–29, moderate 20–24, low 15–19, and very low 714. Scores in the upper ranges indicate stronger, higher-quality leader–member exchanges (e.g., in-group members), whereas scores in the lower ranges indicate exchanges of lesser quality (e.g., out-group members).
1. WHAT IS YOUR LEADER LMX SCORE?
2. WHAT IS YOUR FOLLOWER LMX SCORE?
3. What advice would you give yourself to raise your score, both as a leader and follower (tip, look at the antecedents and LMX tip sheet
